About the Network Topology Designer
01.What is a Network Topology Designer?
A network topology designer is a visual diagramming tool for mapping the physical and logical structure of a computer network. InfraHub's designer provides a drag-and-drop canvas with pre-built components: routers, switches, firewalls, servers, cloud regions, VPCs, subnets, and endpoints. It is purpose-built for DevOps engineers, network architects, and cloud infrastructure teams.
All diagrams are stored locally in your browser — no account required, no data uploaded.
02.How It Works
The designer uses a React-based canvas with SVG rendering. Nodes are draggable components with configurable labels and icons. Edges represent network connections and can be styled to represent different link types (fiber, VPN, internet). The layout engine positions components based on network hierarchy. Diagrams can be exported as PNG images for documentation.
03.Common Use Cases
Cloud architects create AWS or Azure network diagrams before implementation to communicate design to stakeholders. Network engineers document existing infrastructure for audit and compliance. Solutions architects include topology diagrams in RFP responses and technical proposals. IT teams create onboarding documentation showing how internal services are interconnected.
